Fishing background
I took up fishing at the same time as my Dad, when I was 10 years old. We fished Buckingham and District AA waters for several years, learning how to catch a few Roach, Perch, Bream and Tench. Eventually we moved on to Carp fishing, and spent a lot of time at Nellbridge fishery in Aynho, culminating in a then-PB of 19lb 4oz.
Once the Carp fishing bug had taken hold, it was inevitable that we would end up fishing in France, and we did for the first time in 1996 at Etangs Des Papillon. We would return to the venue many times, and amazingly my father purchased the venue from it’s previous owner in 2003.
Between the ages of 17 and 21 fishing took something of a backseat, and was limited to a handful of trips abroad whilst I was studying at Uni. My return to the sport came after graduation, when I was finally mobile, and financially independent enough to enjoy fishing again. A short, and fruitless campaign on a club water in Wellingborough was cut short in 2005. Now I’m back and fishing hard - as you can see.
General Background
I graduated from Lancaster University in 2004, with an upper second class degree in Economics. Following graduation I worked locally, then spent 6 months in France helping to prepare the Exclusive Angling Holidays lakes for the 2005 season. In August of 2005 I moved to Shiga prefecture in Japan, as part of the JET programme, where i lived and worked as an English Language teacher for 12 months.
Since January 2007 I have been living in the Dordogne region of France working at Exclusive Angling Holidays. Here I am responsible for the running of the business and upkeep of the lakes. If you require any more information on our lakes please email me, or visit our website
The Future
In September 2008 I will be splitting my time between my current role at Exclusive Angling Holidays, and studying French at Limoges university.
